I’m always on the hunt for new stuff! It’s one of my favorite parts of running living. New gear, new food, new anything! Especially if it will make me better, faster, healthier.

So, when my RunnerBox came in the mail, packed with goodies from all sorts of new companies I’ve never tried, I was pumped!  Continue reading Review: RunnerBox

Guys, let’s talk about underwear… You always wear it (well, almost always), but you probably rarely give it any thought. As runners, you probably just rock normal running shorts with the built-in mesh and call it a day. Well, I’m here to tell you: There’s another way!

Aerodaks are an Australian-made underwear designed specifically for runners!

“The idea for the product was conceived by one of the co-founders whilst running the Ultra Trail 100 race in the Blue Mountains, Australia,” they say on their website. “It was a case of wanting something that did not exist, that he could not find anywhere. Briefs that are actually comfortable to run with and keeps you dry and reduces chafing. Briefs that are actually made for running.”

I tested them, and after a brief breaking-in period, can report that they do what they’re designed to do: Keep you comfy, supported and – especially important – running without thinking of your nether regions. Continue reading Review: Aerodaks Running Briefs

I never really gave a lot of thought to bike helmets when I was just riding for fun. Then I started training for triathlons and started ogling fancy, fast helmets. I fell in love with Rudy Project gear — and now, I’ve been able to get my hands on a brand new helmet to test out, review and ride with!

I’ve taken the Rudy Project Sterling Helmet out for some rides over the last few weeks and I have to say I am thrilled with this helmet.

First of all, it’s so light! It weighs only 310 grams, which is nuts. Continue reading Review: Rudy Project Sterling Helmet

I wouldn’t throw around the word “favorite” without really meaning it, but… This is my favorite hydration pack I’ve ever tested!

The Orange Mud Endurance Pack is the perfect combination of useful, comfortable and awesome.

I’ve been using the Endurance pack during July and August as I trained for my triathlon. I took to the trails often (as my triathlon run was mostly on packed gravel), so having hydration with me in the woods was my number one priority. Thankfully, this pack came into my life at just the right time. Continue reading Review: Orange Mud Endurance Pack

With the weather heating up – and the sweat pouring off me – it was time to look into some hydration solutions that go beyond water.

Into the mix steps Ultima, a powder you add to water, that just came out with a new formula. Ultima boasts 100mg of magnesium, 250mg of potassium and 55mg of sodium per serving, all with 0 calories and 0 carbs.

These electrolytes help “to replace the minerals you have lost through sweat.”

So, why electrolytes? According to Ultima: Continue reading Review: Ultima Replenisher

Look fast. See fast. Run fast.

These light, awesome xx2i Hawaii 1 sunglasses are the perfect training or racing glasses. They’re comfy, adjustable and look awesome.

I’ve always had a hard time finding glasses that fit my face, stay on my face while running (or riding) and still look really cool. These hit all three — right on the mark.

I’m currently on vacation in California and wore these while doing a bike tour of the city and across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a warm, windy and sunny day and these kept me seeing everything and looking good. No headaches, no glare. They rocked!

I’ve also worn them on numerous runs, especially with the sun low in the sky. And, after, when the sun goes down and I’m still pounding pavement or trekking down the trail, they fit snugly on the top of my head or hat. No bounce — on your nose or head!

Now, I’m a big fan of the SPIBelt. It’s one of the few things that I use on every. single. run. It’s essential to my training and racing, as it’s the best place to stash your phone, nutrition, camera, key, or anything else you like to carry on your runs.

Then, when I heard they were coming out with a hydration belt, I was over the moon! I thought this was going to be my go-to item for carrying H20 on the go!
