Two weeks ago, I was on the road for work. That usually leads to fast food, bad meal decisions and a lingering garbage-like feeling throughout the week.
I was happy that when I got home, I had a package waiting for me with some good, frozen meals inside. These five Luvo meals, which I received as part of being a BibRave Pro (see above), were a welcome sight as I did not have time or energy to go food shopping for my first week back in the daily grind.
I grabbed one a day, for the week, and found myself eating some delicious and fast meals, with good protein numbers, good calorie counts and not a lot of sodium (rare for frozen meals).
Remove from box, keep in bag!
The process is pretty simple, though with a few extra steps than your normal frozen entree. Pop the meat out of the box, but leave it in the brown bag. Nuke it (or, if you have time, pop it in the oven — but who are we kidding?) for about five minutes or so and then leave it in the bag for another 60 seconds.
After you take it out of the microwave, cut off the side and slide the food out onto the plate, and — voila! — you’re ready to chow down.
I was a big fan of the braised beef and chicken chile verde options, though I didn’t have a bad meal in the bunch. The wife wants to try one and said she liked it, but found it a little more wet than she likes.
For a quick meal that I don’t have to think about and know isn’t going to kill me — and tastes good, too — these Luvo meals are a no-brainer to me.
I know I’ll be coming back for seconds. Or thirds.
